New hardware was installed in Marquette’s parking structures to assist with faster visitor entry and exit.
As they have in the past, visitors should press the button to receive a ticket upon entry. Upon exit, instead of inserting the ticket they received upon entry back into the machine, they should scan the QR code on the ticket and follow the prompts to complete payment. If they have a validated ticket, visitors should scan the QR located on the validated ticket to make payment. Those who do not have a validated ticket should insert their credit card to pay.
There are now two ways to pay for visitor parking:
- Visitors can pay online when returning to their vehicle.
- Visitors should scan the QR code on their ticket with their mobile device and follow the prompts to complete payment. Visitors should then proceed to the exit lane and scan the QR code on the ticket or mobile device to exit.
- If someone pays via phone and then parks overnight, if they do not make the additional payment before exiting, they will be prompted to pay the balance due in order to exit.
- Visitors should scan the QR code on their ticket with their mobile device and follow the prompts to complete payment. Visitors should then proceed to the exit lane and scan the QR code on the ticket or mobile device to exit.
- Visitors can pay when exiting.
- Proceed to the exit lane, scan the QR code on the ticket and complete payment at the terminal.
Pay-on-foot stations will be removed from the Structure 1 and 2 lobbies early this month. With the removal of these stations, visitors should display the ticket they pulled upon entry on their driver’s side dashboard to avoid a parking citation.
