Marquette University mourns the loss of Dr. Karel Bicha 

Marquette University mourns the loss of Dr. Karel Bicha, former professor of history in the Klingler College of Arts and Sciences, who died on June 29. He was 89. 

Bicha taught at Marquette from 1970 until 1999, helping lay a foundation in the department for scholarship on immigration and ethnicity. Bicha was a published author of a number of books and articles. 

Bicha is survived by his daughter Anne, son Paul, grandson Davis and sister Marilyn, among other relatives and friends.
