Homecoming to be celebrated in spring in connection with National Marquette Day

Timing to be announced following release of Big East schedule

Marquette’s annual Homecoming celebration will take place during the spring semester starting this academic year, bringing together the festivities with National Marquette Day, the university’s global day of spirit.

The exact dates for Homecoming will be announced following the release of the BIG EAST basketball schedule in early fall. Marquette determines the date of National Marquette Day based on a number of factors, including TV coverage and start time for a weekend home game.

Homecoming has been celebrated during the fall since the tradition was reignited in 2016. By adjusting the timing, the event will tap into and enhance the passion displayed each year on National Marquette Day.

National Marquette Day has been celebrated around the world for over 30 years, providing an opportunity to unite in pride, spirit and sport to honor the values we cherish throughout the year. Members of the Marquette community gathered at watch parties at 50 locations for the men’s basketball game against St. John’s last year, and many more traveled to Milwaukee to celebrate the day in person.
