Marquette will host a variety of events honoring Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. throughout the week of Jan. 20.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day National Day of Service
Monday, Jan. 20, 9 a.m. to noon in the Alumni Memorial Union
The Arrupe Center for Community Service and Social Responsibility will host a national day of service on Jan. 20 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Alumni Memorial Union. Learn more about King’s legacy, meet new people and be immersed in your community while learning more about service and how you can contribute.
There will be many activities offered including card making, book restoration and creating care kits that will all go toward the Greater Milwaukee Community.

Rev. Martin Luther King Remembrance Luncheon
Tuesday, Jan. 21, 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the AMU Monaghan Ballrooms
Gather in community to break bread over the lunch hour as we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
This event will include performances by the MU Gospel Choir and reflections on quotes from King. Register by Thursday, Jan. 16.
This is a complimentary event. A lunch of soup and sandwiches will be provided.
This luncheon is sponsored by the Division of Belonging and Student Affairs, the Center for Peacemaking, Campus Ministry and the Arrupe Center.
Movie screening: “King of the Wilderness”
Friday, Jan. 24, at 8 p.m. in the Varsity Theatre
Through personal stories of the people around him, this film follows King during the last years of his life.
