Campus Ministry will be offering a 7 p.m. Mass on Wednesday, Aug. 14, and a noon Mass on Thursday, Aug. 15, at the St. Joan of Arc Chapel in celebration of the Solemnity of the Assumption of Mary.
The Solemnity of the Assumption is a holy day of obligation for Catholics. This celebration marks the Catholic belief that Mary was assumed bodily into heaven. Christians profess hope that every person’s full self – mind, body, and spirit – will be reunited, resurrected and enjoy eternal communion with God and other people. This hope, believed to be already experienced by the Virgin Mary, is at the heart of the Solemnity of the Assumption.
All are welcome.
