A message from the dean of the Klingler College of Arts and Sciences

Dear alumni and friends of Marquette’s Klingler College of Arts and Sciences,

We are delighted to share our first digital edition of A&S Marquette! Please keep an eye out for this updated version of the A&S Marquette magazine in your inbox every couple of months to stay connected with the wonderful things happening in Arts and Sciences.

Our college motto, “The difference is in the and,” identifies integration as the foundation of what we do and who we are. By connecting the arts and sciences, we draw our strength where creativity intersects with analysis and innovation arises from a holistic approach to learning. This diverse and integrated framework fosters deep thinking and a broad perspective, preparing our graduates for a rapidly evolving world. Our faculty colleagues embody this interdisciplinary spirit by conducting groundbreaking research that connects multiple fields. Our feature story in this issue examines the critical need to support maternal and neonatal mental health from a community-based research perspective that spans two very different approaches (perhaps they are more similar than you might expect … that and again!).

As we continue to celebrate and nurture this unique approach to education, let’s remember the power of difference. It inspires innovation, cultivates creativity and positions our students to lead in an interconnected and complex world full of challenges as well as opportunities.

Thank you for your unwavering dedication to our mission. I hope you enjoy reading about the ongoing success of our college as we champion “the difference in the and.”

Please feel free to reach out to me at heidi.bostic@marquette.edu — I would love to hear from you!

Sincerely,

Dr. Heidi Bostic
