Join the Institute for Women’s Leadership on Thursday, Nov. 3, from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the AHPRC for an expert panel event: “Why Women Experience More Pain Than Men — And What to Do About It.”

Discover the interdisciplinary research on pain perception differences between men and women, learn how gender impacts pain perception and gain tools for individualized pain management.  

The panel features Dr. Marie Hoeger Bement, IWL faculty fellow and professor of physical therapy in the College of Health Sciences, who authored the IWL’s latest publication, “Sex Differences in Pain Perception — Why Do Women Experience More Pain Than Men?”which inspired this panel event. 

Dr. Hoeger Bement will be joined by Dr. Sandra Hunter, AHPRC director and professor of exercise science in the College of Health Sciences, and Dr. Sarah Trost, assistant professor of clinical psychology at the Medical College of Wisconsin and Froedtert Clinic.
