University mourns the loss of Dr. James Kincaid

Marquette University mourns the loss of Dr. James Kincaid, professor emeritus of chemistry and former chair of the Department of Chemistry, who passed away on Monday, Sept. 26. Jim spent 38 years in the Department of Chemistry and was honored as a Wehr Professor, Way Klingler Fellow, Habermann Chair and with a Haggerty Award for Research Excellence. 

Jim served as department chair from 2017 to 2021.

A mass will be held at the Church of the Gesu on Wednesday, Oct. 12, at 5 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life Reception in the AMU’s Lunda Room. In lieu of flowers, friends and family may honor Jim’s legacy by making a contribution to the memorial scholarship of his late niece, Katherine (Kt) Kincaid Scholarship at Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy through CHCA’s website.
