Marquette University has been recognized as a 2026 top transfer destination due to the dynamic pathways it offers to support transfer students.
The recognition comes from Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, which annually releases its Transfer Honor Roll, naming the top 25% of highest-rated colleges and universities. This marks the ninth consecutive year Marquette made the honor roll and 10th time overall.
“Receiving this award year after year reinforces the importance of the work our university does to support our incoming transfer population,” said Catie Koruba, assistant director of transfer admissions in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. “It takes a great deal of interdepartmental communication and coordination to meet the unique needs of transfer students. In our office, A.J. MacDonald, Jane Cimperman and I are dedicated to exclusively working with transfer students, often as the initial points of contact and through their transition to Marquette’s campus. We each strive to meet those students where they are in the transfer process to best support their needs and help them achieve their academic goals.”

The honor roll is determined by five key categories related to support and success of transfer students, including financial support, recruitment and admission practices, and campus engagement for transfers. The criteria result in a Transfer Friendliness Rating, which determines the top achievers from more than 1,100 four-year colleges.
Marquette welcomed 113 new transfer students in fall 2025 and has 338 on campus for the 2026-27 academic year.
In June, the university announced a formal partnership with Arrupe College of Loyola University Chicago by offering guaranteed admission to qualified students, marking the 16th guaranteed admission agreement Marquette has created with regional colleges to assist students in planning their transfer pathway.
The Marquette University transfer admission applications must be received no later than Dec. 1 for spring semester enrollment and July 1 for fall semester enrollment. More information about overall transfer planning resources can be found online.
