Dr. Diego Fernandez, assistant professor in the department of ophthalmology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, will present, “Time-Keeping Mechanisms Within the Limbic System,” on Friday, April 4, at 3 p.m. in Wehr Life Sciences 111.
Fernandez’s work examines how the body and brain encode environmental stimuli, such as daily changes in light and feeding patterns, to timely coordinate physiology and behavior.
The Biological Sciences Department’s Friday Seminar Series is supported by the Scholl Endowment. Eminent scientists are invited to the department to deliver seminars, and students have ample opportunity to engage these scientists in individual or group conversation.
