The Marquette community is invited to the presentation of the 2026 Governor’s Award for Archival Excellence to Raynor Library on Friday, Aug. 28, at 11 a.m. in Raynor Library’s Beaumier Conference Center.

This award, presented by the Wisconsin Historical Society, celebrates the work in Raynor Library’s archives to digitize the Bureau of Catholic Indian Missions (BCIM) correspondence.

As a result of Raynor Library’s initiative, thousands of historical BCIM correspondence documents are now available online. This digital collection allows Indigenous families to more easily discover important information about their ancestors, as well as ensures that historians, tribal communities and religious orders can bring our nation’s hard truths to light and work toward reconciliation.

Refreshments will be provided.  Contact Brenda Fay with questions.
