The Department of History will host the 2026 Professor Frank L. Klement Lecture on Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 4:30 p.m. in the Raynor Library’s Beaumier Suites.
This year’s lecture, “Everything Must Go: Property, Uncertainty, and Freedom in the 1776 Evacuation of Boston,” will be given by Dr. Serena Zabin, Stephen R. Lewis, Jr. Professor of History and the Liberal Arts at Carleton College. A past president of the Society for Historians of the Early American Republic, Zabin is the author of numerous works on early America, most notably the multi‑award‑winning “The Boston Massacre: A Family History” (2020).
