Iconic 1934 Packard from famous 1977 championship photo to visit campus Sept. 18

As part of Marquette’s season-long celebration of the 50th anniversary of the 1977 men’s basketball national championship, fans will have an opportunity to see a piece of program history on campus Friday, Sept. 18. The iconic 1934 Packard convertible featured in the team’s memorable championship-season photo will be displayed outside St. Joan of Arc Chapel from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., weather permitting.

Students, faculty, staff, alumni and fans are invited to stop by, take photos and see up close the vintage automobile that became part of Marquette basketball lore through its association with the 1976-77 team and legendary head coach Al McGuire.

The display is free and open to all members of the Marquette community and the public. Follow the Marquette basketball X account for any updates.
