President Kimo Ah Yun has been named to the board of directors for Children’s Wisconsin, the region’s only independent healthcare system dedicated solely to the health and well-being of children.
Children’s Wisconsin is governed by a community board of directors. The board consists of business and community leaders with varying perspectives and expertise. They oversee the strategic and financial decisions that shape the organization’s future.
“Children’s Wisconsin is an asset to Milwaukee and Wisconsin for the superior health resources it provides to our community’s children,” President Ah Yun said. “I am honored to represent Marquette University in supporting a valuable partner in its service to the community and the education of future healthcare professionals. As Marquette Nursing celebrates its 90th anniversary, we are grateful for Children’s support of future Marquette nurses.”
President Ah Yun was elected the 25th president of Marquette University in November 2024. He joined Marquette in 2016 as dean of the Diederich College of Communication, was named acting provost in 2018 and then served as permanent provost and executive vice president for academic affairs in 2019.
Serving children and families since 1894, Children’s Wisconsin provides the highest-quality primary and specialty care, supports kids and families through community-based services, and is a national leader in pediatric research and education.
