Thousands of students arrived on campus, explored Milwaukee, connected with classmates and began settling into life at Marquette during the first week of the fall semester.
From move-in day and New Student Orientation to welcome back events, the numbers tell the story of a campus buzzing as the fall semester kicks off:
- 8,707 people entered the Alumni Memorial Union on move-in day, 3,500 more than on an average day
- 3,559 students moved into Marquette residence halls
- 2,069 students checked into New Student Orientation
- 2,052 items were sold at the MarKept Market, providing affordable essentials for students while keeping usable items out of landfills
- 1,500 people attended the annual Welcome Back Picnic
- 1,344 students moved into Marquette apartments
- 1,002 students attended weekend excursions to explore Milwaukee
- 1,000 students attended Marquette Athletics’ tailgate for women’s soccer’s matchup with UW-Milwaukee
- 804 students attended “Rock the Rec” on Saturday night at the Wellness + Helfaer Recreation facility
- 600 people got coffee from the Recovery at Marquette Coffee Bike
- 80 faculty and staff members served as Warm Welcome volunteers, helping students feel a sense of belonging from the moment they arrive on campus
- 76 students attended the First Gen Student and Family Welcome
- 50 students attended a service project, “Day One in the 414”
