A message from Keyes Dean of Business Administration Andrew DeGuire

Dear Marquette Business community,

This fall semester has been bustling with energy and engagement — precisely the rhythm that drives our college forward. Whether I’m participating in campus events, reconnecting with alumni, or collaborating with partners near and far, I’m continually inspired by the shared commitment to advancing our university’s mission. That collective passion challenges me daily to contribute in meaningful ways to our shared success.

When I think about what excellence looks like here at Marquette Business, I’m reminded of our remarkable students and faculty who earned acceptance to the International Conference on Environmental Systems in Prague. This prestigious event accepts fewer than one percent of submitted research papers, yet all four from Marquette were accepted. These papers explored the financial sustainability of space experiments and innovative AI applications. That achievement afforded our undergraduate students the extraordinary opportunity to engage with some of the brightest minds in space exploration. It’s a clear example of how Marquette Business continues to push boundaries, even into the final frontier.

We received some great news about our MBA program in the latest edition of the U.S. News and World Report rankings, which placed us among the top 50 programs in the country. This recognition affirms the strength of our educational approach—applied, interdisciplinary learning grounded in ethics and designed for real-world career impact. I’m equally excited to welcome Dr. Andrew Meyer as our new associate dean, who shares this vision and will be instrumental in advancing the Graduate School of Management. You’ll learn more about his plans in this newsletter.

I see our alumni embodying Marquette Business values every day. Todd Jones, CFO of Northwestern Mutual, stands out as a prime example. Having worked closely with Todd during my insurance career, I know him as a visionary leader who truly integrates what’s best for business with what’s best for people. It’s no surprise Northwestern Mutual continues to flourish under his leadership.

With faculty, staff, students, and alumni like those highlighted here, the future for Marquette Business is exceptionally bright. I’m energized by what lies ahead and grateful to share this journey with all of you.

Sincerely,
Andrew DeGuire
