Join the Lubar Center for Public Policy Research and Civic Education on Tuesday, Jan. 30, at 12:15 p.m. as it continues its “Get to Know” series. Derek Mosley, director of the Lubar Center, will welcome Peggy Williams-Smith, president and CEO of VISIT Milwaukee.
Williams-Smith has been with Visit Milwaukee since 2019 as the organization’s first female president/CEO. In 2022, she was named Milwaukee Business Journal’s Executive of the Year. According to data from the Wisconsin Department of Tourism, the Greater Milwaukee area set its all-time tourism record with a $6.018 billion economic impact in 2022. From events such as the USA Triathlon National Championships to cruise ships docking in the harbor to the coming Republican National Convention, Milwaukee’s star is rising as a place to visit.
The “Get to Know” series is intended to be “more late-night talk show than ‘Meet the Press.’” The program will begin promptly at 12:15 p.m. and last an hour. The program will include lunch, conversation, and community in Eckstein Hall.
