Campus Ministry invites all members of the campus community to the annual Burning of the Palms on Tuesday, Feb. 14, at 9:30 p.m. in the plaza outside St. Joan of Arc Chapel.
Ash Wednesday is fast approaching. Venerable tradition in the Roman Catholic Church holds that the ashes imposed at the start of Lenten pilgrimage come from the burning of palm leaves blessed the previous year on Palm Sunday. All are welcome to join in this tradition, burning ashes in preparation for Ash Wednesday celebrations next week.
If anyone has palms blessed in any previous years that they would like to have blessed, they can drop them off in Campus Ministry any time prior to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
After the blessing, all are invited to join for Mass in the St. Joan of Arc Chapel, beginning at 10 p.m.
