The Sustainable Marquette ERG will host Marquette’s first Fossil Free Commute Week from Monday, Sept. 13 through Friday, Sept. 17. The week aims to encourage the community to commute to and from campus using alternate modes of transportation that either do not use or use less fossil fuels, like taking the bus or carpooling.
- Starting Wednesday, Sept. 8, employees can join the Marquette Fossil Free Commute Week Challenge in Virgin Pulse and earn up to 200 points by using a more sustainable mode of transportation at least three times throughout the week.
- The Sustainable Marquette ERF, MUPD, and the Wisconsin Bike Federation will hold a Marquette Community Bike Ride on Thursday, Sept. 16 at 5 p.m., beginning outside of Lalumiere Language Hall. The ride will take off at 5:30 p.m. A 5-mile bike ride will take place around the Menomonee Valley and is open to all members of the Marquette community. By signing up in advance, participants will have the chance to win a new bike helmet or a 30-day ride pass from Bublr Bikes. Register online.
