Marquette Business has announced seven study abroad programs available to students across the university. Each program is organized by instructors within the College of Business Administration, providing the opportunity to travel alongside expert faculty while exploring international business practices firsthand.
The programs offer course credit, allowing students to complete accelerated courses during J-Session or spring break. Most options contain three credits and satisfy curriculum requirements like the ESSV2 course, international business electives or upper-level business electives. Academic details can be found on individual program listings through Marquette’s Office of International Education.
Two programs will take place during J-Session 2027. Students must apply by Oct. 1, 2026.
Accounting Marburg Travel Program
In this course, students explore how cultures and traditions shape differences in national corporate governance systems. By discussing and comparing theoretical concepts and empirical results, students examine financing and financial accounting, capital market institutions, board structure, corporate social responsibility mechanisms and more.

Singapore: Business, Culture & Innovation
This new course explores how Singapore has developed into one of the world’s most dynamic and globally integrated economies. Through an interdisciplinary approach combining international business, management and information systems, students will examine how cultural values such as meritocracy and collective living, along with strategic public policy and innovation, influence organizational behavior and economic success.

Business Culture & Marketing in Lisbon, Portugal
Through company and industry visits, students gain exposure to a variety of international sectors and functions in Lisbon. The course combines marketing and business information with the culture of Portugal, allowing students to compare and contrast business practices with that of the United States.

Conducting Business in Czechia
Students gain exposure to a range of international business issues, with a focus on central Europe and Czechia. While working in teams across countries, students explore language and history, exchange rate risk, exchange rate management, supply chain management and business logistics.

Global Supply Chain Sustainability Program (Bogota, Colombia)
This applied study-abroad course immerses students in the end-to-end Colombian coffee supply chain, cultivating globally-minded and ethically grounded supply chain professionals. By integrating four preparatory modules with a week-long practicum in Bogotá and the Choachí growing region, students will gain a firm grasp of production, logistics, customs compliance and export milestones.

Zurich, Switzerland: Commercial Banking Study Abroad
This study abroad course focuses on the international financial sector of Zurich, Switzerland, regarded as a major global financial hub. By visiting Swiss banks, students will compare and contrast Switzerland’s banking system to that of the U.S. This firsthand experience allows students to deepen their understanding of the international banking system, which has a direct relationship with the economy of the United States.
