STRIDE (STEM Research Initiative for Diversity and Equity) will host a five-part series in August focused on culturally responsive training for STEM faculty.
Join fellow faculty in a dynamic and engaging professional development series designed to elevate equity, inclusion and cultural responsiveness in STEM classrooms. Register online.
Sessions will run from 10 a.m. to noon on Aug. 10, 11, 12, 19 and 20.
This training offers practical strategies to:
- Connect STEM content to students’ lived experiences
- Address implicit bias in instruction and assessment
- Foster inclusive, collaborative learning environments
- Support underrepresented students in STEM fields
- Build equitable classroom participation norms
Participants will leave the series with a toolkit of culturally responsive strategies tailored for STEM; access to sample syllabi, inclusive assessment models and peer-reviewed teaching tools; opportunities for collaborative learning and peer feedback; and a certificate and $1,000 stipend after completion of training and activities.
