Quick! Finish this sentence: “My research serves ____.”
That was the final challenge for Marquette students as they presented their research posters at Marquette’s 2025 Engineering Undergraduate Research Day. Whether analyzing hospital data with AI or digging into stormwater runoff sites along Milwaukee roadways, the answers came easily for two simple reasons:
- Service to communities is central to Marquette’s research efforts, guiding the work in labs across campus.
- As undergraduate research opportunities are designed to develop Marquette students into technically skilled servant leaders, that service-oriented mindset is just as important as the lab skills they pick up along the way.
Through the Summer Undergraduate Research Fellows program in Marquette’s Opus College of Engineering and similar programs across campus, students work alongside faculty experts on real projects while learning technical skills, collaborating with diverse teams and exploring their potential to serve the world.
For Marquette engineering students, Undergraduate Research Day offers an annual opportunity to showcase their work and share stories from their time in cutting-edge labs.
