M. S. Program in Speech Language Pathology earns full-term reaccreditation

he Speech Pathology and Audiology Department in the College of Health Sciences has received reaccreditation from its professional organization after a successful site visit in February.

The department earned an eight-year accreditation term, the longest term given by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

“First, I’d like to thank all the members who assisted the department in this process, which is no small undertaking,” said Emily Patterson, department chair. “Accreditation is critical to the success of our program and ensures we are continuing to teach our students the academic excellence expected from them upon graduation and the necessary skills needed to succeed in the field.”

The Master of Science program in Speech Language Pathology has been accredited for over 50 years.

“I’m so proud of our faculty for continuing to uphold the strong teaching standards in our program,” Patterson said. “When our students graduate, they are prepared to change lives through a natural extension of Marquette’s mission and we’re happy to provide the education that helps them fulfill those goals.”
