Marquette’s Indigenous Solidarity Immersion trip is a unique program in which a delegation of Marquette students will visit the Stockbridge-Munsee Reservation (about two and a half hours north of Milwaukee) to develop a holistic understanding of the history, culture, sovereignty and contemporary lifeways of tribal communities.
All Marquette students are welcome to apply online by Monday, Feb. 24. More information can be found online.
Jo Ann Schedler, the host of the event and a Marquette alumna, will guide participants through site visits and an exploration of topics including tribal sovereignty, health equity, language preservation and environmental justice.
The program will run Thursday, April 10, through Saturday, April 12. A highly-subsidized participation fee of $100 will help cover lodging, food and travel costs. If you need additional financial assistance, please indicate so in your application.
