The Office of Mission and Ministry is excited to announce the theme for Mission Week 2025: Act with Care.
Mission Week begins Sunday, Feb. 2, at 6 p.m. Mass and runs through Friday, Feb. 7.
The third installment in the “act with” series, Act with Care calls the campus community to think about how everyone can prioritize love and let go of judgment.
“Acting with care is an integral part of being people for and with others,” says Vice President for Mission and Ministry Rev. John Thiede, S.J. “When we act with care, we are showing those around us that we see them and want the best for them.
“Our Mission Week theme is deeply embedded in our Ignatian tradition and specifically cura personalis. We strive to care for everyone in our community since we believe in the dignity of the human person and believe we are all deeply loved by God.”
This year’s Mission Week slate of events will feature mainstays including the Catching Fire Breakfast, the Women’s Luncheon and the free lunches for campus members; new events featuring off-campus guests will be announced soon.

Act with Care thematic statement
Care.
A simple act.
A profound action.
It’s the pause we take to listen deeply.
The response we make that embodies compassion.
The intentional choice to prioritize love and let go of judgment.
When we act with care, it enables us
To see the dignity in everyone — so we can foster unity and equality.
To recognize the needs of the Earth — so we can bring balance to our environment.
To hold ourselves to a higher standard — so we can lift others as we rise.
God, help us understand your love for us,
So that we know how to bring your care to the world.
How to create spaces of healing and understanding.
How to shape nurturing communities.
And give us the open hearts and steady hands we need to make acting with care a natural part of everything we do.
