The Advent season begins on Sunday, Dec. 1. Campus Ministry and other university offices have events planned to welcome the season with open arms.
Sunday, Dec. 1
- Mass for the first Sunday of Advent | 6 p.m. at the Church of the Gesu
Monday, Dec. 2
- Advent wreath blessing | Noon in the Alumni Memorial Union rotunda
- Hot chocolate bar and cookies will follow the blessing
Tuesday, Dec. 3
- Christmas tree lighting | 5 p.m. in the Gratitude Garden
- Hot chocolate and cookies will be served after caroling and music
- Mass for Simbang Gabi and celebration offered by the Bayanihan Student Organization | 6:15 p.m. in the Chapel of the Holy Family
Thursday, Dec. 5
- Liturgical Choir Lessons and Carols concert | 7 p.m. in the AMU Monaghan Ballrooms
Friday, Dec. 6
- Mass in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe Mass and fiesta dinner | 4:30 p.m. in the Chapel of the Holy Family
- A free Mexican dinner will be served in AMU 227 after Mass
Sunday, Dec. 8
- Mass for the second Sunday of Advent | 6 p.m. in the Church of the Gesu, 9 p.m. in the Chapel of the Holy Family
Monday, Dec. 9
- Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary Masses | 7:30 a.m., noon and 9 p.m. in the Chapel of the Holy Family; 7 a.m., 12:05 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. in the Church of the Gesu
- This is the Patronal Feast of the United States and is a holy day of obligation
