When you arrive at Marquette University, you aren’t only getting an education — you’re gaining a community.
Lifelong bonds are built on campus, flourishing in the classroom, within sacred spaces, in the stands, and through countless clubs and activities.
There’s a “home” for everyone at Marquette, which serves as the creative inspiration behind Marquette’s new TV spot, “Connections.” The commercial, produced by Marquette’s Office of University Relations, will air during televised Big East sporting events and will be utilized for digital advertising campaigns across a variety of platforms to help increase brand awareness and drive enrollment.
“When you arrive ready for something good, you’ll leave connected to something greater,” the voiceover says.
The ad showcases the student journey from warm arrival to thriving in mind, body and spirit, and features current Marquette students, faculty, staff, parents and an alumna who is part of the Marquette Mentors program.
“This TV spot highlights the people who make our Marquette community special,” said Lauren Burke, director of video in the Office of University Relations. “Personal connections are at the heart of the Marquette experience and help ensure our students feel supported during a pivotal period of their lives.”
The university’s TV spot is updated every few years and is produced into 15-, 30- and 60-second versions to allow for flexibility across traditional and digital advertising platforms.
“Given fragmentation in the media environment, it was important that we produce a spot that helps us meet our various audiences where they are,” said Lynn Griffith, chief marketing and communication officer at Marquette. “In addition to being a responsible use of resources, a flexible spot that connects across platforms ensures Marquette’s mission is shared with as many people as possible — including with prospective students who are more likely to see the commercial on a streaming platform or paid social media post rather than a traditional television viewing experience.”
Marquette’s previous TV spot, “Reflections,” received a Circle of Excellence award from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) in 2022. The national award recognizes exceptional achievement in advancement services, alumni relations, communications, fundraising and marketing.
