Marquette University Law School’s Lubar Center for Public Policy Research and Civic Education will host a “Get to Know” discussion with James Obergefell as part of its new “Face of the Case” program on Wednesday, Sept. 18, at 12:15 p.m.
The discussion will begin promptly and last one hour. It will include lunch, conversation and community in Eckstein Hall. Register online to attend. Registration ends Sept. 17.
Derek Mosley, director of the Lubar Center, will welcome Obergefell, the named plaintiff in the landmark U.S. Supreme Court case, Obergefell v. Hodges (2015), which ruled that the Constitution guarantees a right to marry for same-sex couples.
Obergefell, who lives in Ohio, is the co-founder of Equality Vines, a producer and a published author. Join to learn about how Obergefell became a party in the historic case, his commitment to supporting equality organizations and his dedication to love and dignity.
