The Lemonis Center for Student Success will begin this year’s Student Success Dialogues with Dr. Melissa Shew, associate director of teaching excellence in the Center for Teaching and Learning and faculty director of the Executive MBA Program, on Thursday, Sept. 17, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Lemonis Center Multipurpose Room.
This session will give participants the opportunity to share, reflect and learn about the art of giving and receiving feedback, and how meaningful feedback can help all of us become better students, colleagues, leaders and teammates.
Register online by Wednesday, Sept. 16.
We all regularly provide and receive a variety of feedback — in verbal conversations, in social media and other places online, in our classes, in our jobs and even in conversations with friends. But, knowing how and when to give and receive feedback constructively and appropriately can be difficult. This student success dialogue is designed to address that difficulty by encouraging participants to identify their strengths and areas for growth in terms of giving and receiving professional feedback, foster positive feedback loops with others (employees, students, coworkers) and consider the strong upside to giving productive, constructive feedback — and receiving it as well.
Come ready to share, reflect and learn together while enjoying a meal with peers and colleagues across campus.
