Derek Mosley | The Difference Makers at Marquette University

Derek Mosley is one of the most recognizable figures in Milwaukee, having served as a Milwaukee Municipal Court judge for two decades. Last year, he brought his charisma and keen sense of justice to Marquette University Law School, where he is now the director of the Lubar Center for Public Policy Research and Civic Education — and a clear Marquette Difference Maker.

A role model who “shares of himself with great love and enthusiasm,” Derek is most energized by bringing together people from different backgrounds and lived experiences to have honest and productive conversations about the issues that face us all. In addition to his work at the Lubar Center, he travels the region and the country teaching about Black history and unconscious bias.

A man for and with others, Derek Mosley makes a difference every day at Marquette, in Milwaukee and beyond. Please enjoy learning more about his story.

Best,

Dr. Michael R. Lovell
