Benefit reminders for the new year; 1095-C tax forms now available

A new year brings changes to your paycheck. Please check your January 2024 pay slip to make sure it is accurate (directions on how to view your pay slip are available online).

Check your deductions:

  • Are all of your expected benefits listed, including any new benefits you elected during Annual Enrollment? Current elections can be seen at marquettebenefitsenrollment.com. See “How to View Your Benefits” for details.
  • Is your contribution to your Health Savings Account what you expected? You can change your HSA contribution amount anytime up to the IRS limit during the year by emailing benefits@marquette.edu. 2024 limits: $4,150 (employee only), $8,300 (covering more than one person), $1,000 additional catch-up contribution for members age 55+.
  • Check to make sure your retirement contributions are where you’d like them to be. Thanks to compound interest, even small increases in your retirement contributions can make a big difference down the road. The IRS has increased the maximum you can set aside this year to as much as $23,000. See the retirement plan website for more information about Marquette’s TIAA retirement plan.

Health plan notes:

  • As the new plan year begins, remember that you will first meet your deductible. The providers you use will determine how your claim will be processed and paid after you have met your deductible (tier 1, tier 2 or out-of-network).
  • If you did not select a primary care provider during annual enrollment, you may do so by logging in (or creating) an account at umr.com. Click here to learn how to designate a PCP. Once you elect a PCP, you will receive a new ID card in the mail. You may change your designated PCP throughout the year by logging into your UMR account.
  • If you are taking or using an eligible specialty medication, you must participate in the specialty access program. An enrollment specialist with the Navitus Specialty Pharmacy, Lumicera, will assist you with enrolling in the program and collecting all necessary information. During the enrollment process, the specialist will work with you to ensure you continue to receive your specialty medication(s). Contact Lumicera at (855) 847-3553 or lumicera.com with any questions. See the Annual Benefits Enrollment Guide for additional information.
