Raynor Memorial Libraries is hosting a food drive through Friday, Dec. 8, to benefit Marquette’s Backpack Program. Members of the Marquette community are invited to donate canned food — such as chili, beans, tuna and ravioli — at the collection bin in the library lobby. Please note that low-sodium foods are preferred, and chicken soup is not needed.
Marquette’s Backpack Program is a free, confidential service that provides groceries to any Marquette student having difficulty accessing affordable, nutritious food and other household essentials. Cash gifts for the program are also welcome; see the program’s website for details.
All donations will support current Marquette students who are struggling with food insecurity. Questions about the food drive can be directed to Elisa Coghlan.
