Marquette will host an unveiling for a marker commemorating the university’s Land and Water Acknowledgment on Friday, Feb. 3, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Eckstein Common.
The marker is the latest in the significant advances Marquette has made toward better acknowledging and honoring the long history of Native peoples and nations that lived on and stewarded the land and water where the university now resides.
Following the unveiling ceremony, there will be a light reception on the first floor of the AMU with hot cocoa and cookies.
