Walk this Way Step Challenge: My Wellness points and weekly giveaway available

May 16, 2022

Marquette University employees and their spouses can participate in a fun and competitive step challenge which will encourage participants to walk more often during the day. The goal is to complete 50,000 steps each week as part of our focus on total well-being. The challenge will be held Monday, May 23, through Sunday, June 19.  Registration opens May 16; register 50,000 steps in week one by May 29 to fully participate.

How do I enroll in the challenge?

Go to My Wellness Portal and enter your personal username and password. Once you land on the ‘Challenges’ page, you are now enrolled in the challenge! (first-time users see registration directions below).

How do I log my activity?

Each day log in to My Wellness Portal, click on the ‘Challenges’ tile and record the number of steps you completed and click ‘Save.’ While it is recommended that participants log steps every evening, you have seven days to record daily steps.  Participants may use their own pedometer or fitness tracking device.  While connecting a device is not required, many devices can be electronically linked with the site for easy tracking (see the Fitness Device FAQ).

How am I eligible for My Rewards points and chances for giveaway prizes?

The goal is to complete at least 50,000 steps per week.  Participants who meet the weekly goal throughout the entire four-week challenge (4 weeks total) will be awarded 25 My Rewards points. Participants who log 50,000 steps in a week will be entered into the weekly prize give-away for that week (the week ends each Sunday at 7 p.m.).  The challenge will be held May 23 – June 19.  Registration opens May 16; register 50,000 steps in week one by May 29 to fully participate.

Interested in working with a health coach?

Challenge participants are encouraged to work with a personal health coach to take your fitness to the next level.  You can connect with a free health coach by calling 800-882-2109 or visiting the ‘Coaching’ tab on your My Wellness Portal.

Visit the Marquette Employee Wellness page for additional wellness resources.
