The Marquette University Chinese Program and STARTALK invite the campus community to a virtual lecture on Friday, March 28, at 11 a.m. by Dr. Yichen Lee, an experienced Mandarin educator with a background in teaching in the United States and Taiwan. Lee will explore the evolution of Chinese pop music, examining how it reflects themes of romance, political change and cultural reinvention.

Lee holds a Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction with a minor in second-language acquisition from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has designed and taught online courses for high school and college students and has held teaching positions at SUNY-Albany and Bard College.

This event is open to all who are interested in Chinese culture and music.
