Dr. Naveen Bansal, professor of mathematics and statistical sciences, will present the Department of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences colloquium on Friday, Jan. 31, at 1 p.m. in Cudahy Hall 401. Bansal’s seminar will consider Bayesian Decision Theoretic methodologies for multiple hypothesis testing when there is skewness in the alternative hypotheses. An application of this for gene expression data will be considered to detect targeted genes regulated by microRNAs.

Post-colloquium refreshments will be served in Cudahy Hall 342. For more information on MSSC seminars, please visit their website or contact Dr. Naveen Bansal.
