Dr. Mike Weimerskirch, associate professor of mathematics at the University of Minnesota, will present the mathematical and statistical sciences colloquium, “Fostering and Assessing Mathematical Communication Skills in Introductory-Level Courses,” on Thursday, Oct. 2, at 2 p.m. in Cudahy Hall 401 and on MS Teams.
The talk will explore how the University of Minnesota revised its precalculus sequence to incorporate communication skills as a central component of the grading scheme.
