Rev. Joseph Simmons, S.J., assistant professor of theology in the Klingler College of Arts and Sciences and faculty teaching fellow at the Center for Teaching and Learning, will discuss current issues on Monday, Sept. 22, from noon to 1 p.m. in Raynor Library 330B.
The regular dose of news of gun violence in schools, parishes and at political rallies is disruptive to faculty and student attentions. Intractable political issues on the national and international stage generate considerable emotion and leave people wondering what to do with their own feelings. These events shape the background to concerns and uncertainties felt in higher education and on campus.
Father Simmons will offer some thoughts and insights from the Jesuit intellectual and spiritual tradition to lead a lunch-time conversation for faculty and graduate students.
