Weather Update: Avoid Menomonee River Valley; water leaks reported in some campus facilities

Here is a safety update regarding water-related issues on campus stemming from increased rainfall in southeastern Wisconsin:

• The Marquette University Police Department is asking the campus community to avoid campus facilities in the Menomonee River Valley due to roadway flooding on Canal Street between 6^th and 24^th  Streets. In addition, today’s men’s and women’s preseason soccer games that were to be played at Valley Fields, 1818 W. Canal St., are both cancelled due to standing water on the field from heavy rains.
• Facilities Planning and Management is assessing and managing water in various buildings across campus as a result of heavy rains over the past 12 hours.
• Campus remains open and operational.

Additional rain is forecast for the greater Milwaukee area through the rest of the day today, and conditions on campus will be monitored.
