Weather Update: Avoid Menomonee River Valley; water leaks reported in some campus facilities
Here is a safety update regarding water-related issues on campus stemming from increased rainfall in southeastern Wisconsin:
- The Marquette University Police Department is asking the campus community to avoid campus facilities in the Menomonee River Valley due to roadway flooding on Canal Street between 6th and 24th Streets. In addition, today’s men’s and women’s preseason soccer games that were to be played at Valley Fields, 1818 W. Canal St., are both cancelled due to standing water on the field from heavy rains.
- Facilities Planning and Management is assessing and managing water in various buildings across campus as a result of heavy rains over the past 12 hours.
- Campus remains open and operational.
Additional rain is forecast for the greater Milwaukee area through the rest of the day today, and conditions on campus will be monitored.
