Students invited to apply for the inaugural Marquette Student Experience Advisory Council 

Are you passionate about improving the student experience at Marquette? Do you want to help shape initiatives that support student belonging, well-being, engagement and success? Are you interested in a unique leadership role on campus? 

Luis de Zengotita, vice president for student life, belonging and well-being, is seeking applications for the inaugural Student Experience Advisory Council, a new Marquette student advisory body for the Division of Belonging and Student Affairs and Division of Wellness + Recreation. 

SEAC provides a meaningful opportunity for students to share their perspectives, experiences and ideas directly with university leadership. Council members will help inform programs, services, strategic initiatives and emerging priorities that impact the Marquette student experience.

SEAC Members will: 

  • Provide feedback on student needs, opportunities and challenges 
  • Advise university leadership on initiatives, programs and services 
  • Elevate diverse student perspectives and lived experiences 
  • Strengthen communication between students and university leaders 
  • Help foster a culture of belonging, well-being, engagement and continuous improvement 

Who Should Apply: 

De Zengotita is seeking up to 15 students from a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, academic programs and levels of campus involvement. Membership will reflect the diversity of the Marquette student experience, including undergraduate and graduate students, residential and commuter students and students with varied identities and lived experiences.

Commitment: 

  • Monthly meetings on Friday afternoons from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. (must be available during this time) 
  • Term runs from November 2026 through May 2027 
  • Participation in ongoing events, dialogue and communication with university leadership and students throughout the year 
  • Council members receive leadership development opportunities, formal recognition for their service and meals at designated meetings
