Recent reports of sexual violence on college campuses can be unsettling and may affect members of the Marquette community in different ways. Students, faculty and staff are reminded that a variety of university resources are available for support, conversation and assistance.
Whether you are feeling anxious, concerned about your safety, supporting someone who has experienced violence or simply looking for someone to talk to, Marquette is here to help:
For students
- The Marquette Counseling Center is available for drop-in visits and appointments on the fourth floor of the Wellness + Helfaer Recreation facility. The Counseling Center can be reached at (414) 288-7172, and counselors are available 24 hours a day via phone.
- Advocacy Services provides confidential support, information and resources for students who have experienced sexual assault, relationship violence, stalking or sexual harassment. Advocacy support is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week at (414) 288-5244.

- Campus ministers and affiliated ministers are available to speak in a supportive setting and can provide spiritual support and guidance.
For faculty and staff
- Marquette’s Employee Assistance Program, LifeMatters, provides up to six free confidential, independent sessions with a master’s-level counselor for faculty and staff. Additional grief resources are available for employees on the Human Resources website.
- The Faber Center is available for faculty and staff in need of support and guidance rooted in the Ignatian tradition.
The Office of Title IX and Student Civil Rights Compliance provides supportive measures to university community members impacted by sexual harassment or other sexual misconduct. Supportive measures are individualized supports to help students, faculty, and staff continue their studies or work. They are available regardless of whether someone reports what they experienced.
The Marquette University Police Department is available 24 hours a day to all members of the campus community and can be reached at (414) 288-6800 for emergencies, safety concerns or assistance. Marquette’s sacred spaces are also available for prayer, reflection and quiet contemplation.
