Take part in Near West Side Week, Sept. 13-20 

Near West Side Partners will celebrate Near West Side Week from Sunday, Sept. 13, to Saturday, Sept. 20. Throughout the week, there will be a variety of events highlighting the Near West Side’s thriving neighborhoods and businesses.

Thursday, Sept. 10 

  • Coffee Social Preview 
    • 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. | Concordia 27 (821 N. 27th St.) 
    • Learn all the details for Near West Side Week events and enjoy coffee and pastries from Fruition MKE, a tea tasting from Tootsie’s Tea and cinnamon rolls from Cilla’s Swirls. 

 Sunday, Sept. 13 

  • New State and Near West Side Block Party 
    • Noon to 4 p.m. | The New State (2612 W. State St.) 
    • Join Near West Side Partners as it celebrates the kickoff to Near West Side Week with entertainment from Emmitt James, Kavon Cortez Jones, The New State DJs, youth theater performances and more. Artists Working in Education will be onsite with a large scale art project for the whole crows. 

Monday, Sept. 14 

  • MSO at the Uplifting Mansion 
    • Doors at 5:30 p.m., performance at 6 p.m. | Uplifting Mansion (3121 W Wisconsin Ave) 
    • Enjoy music under the stars with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. Bring a blanket for the lawn. 

Wednesday, Sept. 16 

  • Rev Up 
    • 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. | The Rave/Eagles Club (2401 W. Wisconsin Ave.) 
    • This year’s event will include a crowd favorite, a “Taste of the Near West Side,” which features local cuisine and live entertainment that reflects the neighborhood’s energy and diversity. Visit entrepreneur booths and cast your vote for your favorite business. Hear from past Rev-Up winners before the awards ceremony. 

 Thursday, Sept. 17 

Friday, Sept. 18 

  • NWSP/Menomonee Valley Partners Scavenger Hunt (opens on Friday, Sept. 18, at noon, and closes Sunday, Sept. 20, at 5 p.m.) 
    • This year’s annual scavenger hunt is being put on in partnership with Menomonee Valley Partners as it plans to kick off the annual Valley Week. Test your knowledge on two great Milwaukee neighborhoods. 
  • Davidson Park Movie Night 
    • Movie begins at 6:30 p.m. | Davidson Park (3725 W. Juneau Ave.) 
    • Gather family, friends and neighbors for a cozy evening under the stars at Davidson Park. Kick off the evening with free STEAM activities for kids in the H-D Moto Lab, open from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. before each movie. Then arrive early to snag the perfect spot, enjoy tasty snacks and settle in for a relaxed night of fun before fan-favorite films light up the screen at 6:30 p.m. The movie selection will be announced soon. 

Saturday, Sept. 19 

  • Groove & Flow Yoga 
    • Noon | SWIM Hub (831 N. 27th St.) 
    • SWIM offers a great variety of health and wellness classes and workshops. Groove & Flow Yoga is a beginner-friendly experience set to uplifting hip hop and R&B playlists. Participants move through accessible yoga postures, gentle flows, breathwork and mindful stretching while connecting movement to music. The class promotes flexibility, balance, stress relief and overall well-being in a supportive, judgment-free environment. No prior yoga experience is necessary.
