Employees have access to detailed summaries of benefits and opportunities that support emotional, financial, physical and spiritual wellness in the university’s Total Rewards Guide. Even more extensive information on these benefits and wellness opportunities can be found Marquette’s Benefits and Wellness website. Both are accessible via the Human Resources site.
For many employees, annual enrollment is the only time they think about their benefits, turning the process into a routine “check-the-box” exercise. As a result, opportunities to save money, maximize available benefits and make informed enrollment decisions can be overlooked. Instead, employees are encouraged to review their benefits throughout the year and explore the resources, programs and services available to support their well-being as part of the Marquette University community. The Total Rewards Guide and Benefits and Wellness website are excellent sources to help one do so.
Just a few of the wellness resources located on the Benefits and Wellness website include:
- Eligible expenses list for FSAs and HSAs – helps maximize savings by knowing what is considered an eligible expense; located at the FSA and HSA Toolkit link on both the Flexible Spending Accounts and Health Savings Accounts pages
- Free financial planning benefit through Francis – meet with financial planners in person or virtually for free to address financial matters such as planning for retirement, tax strategies, defeating debt and developing a budget; located on the My Financial Health page
- Mental health resources – an array of resources meant to support mental health, including the Employee Assistance Program, low-cost and expedient services through Teladoc, and mental health benefits available through Marquette’s medical insurance, including condition management services through Tria Health; available on the Mental Health Resources page
- Voluntary benefits – numerous supplemental medical benefits such as accident, critical illness and hospital indemnity coverages that provide protection for covered experiences, as well as standalone support services such as a legal services benefit and identity and fraud protection plan; located on the Voluntary Benefits page
- Individual voluntary benefit pages also provide savings opportunities for those currently enrolled in benefit
- Wellness rewards – participation in the university’s employee wellness program can earn financial and other tangible and intangible benefits; list of rewards and eligible activities located on Wellness Incentives and Rewards page
The Total Rewards Guide is updated annually, while the Benefits and Wellness website is maintained year-round with the latest information. Employees are encouraged to revisit Marquette’s total rewards program regularly to stay informed about the benefits, resources and services available to support their well-being. With annual enrollment approaching, now is an ideal time to review these offerings and ensure they are making the most of the opportunities available to them.
Those with questions on any of Marquette’s total rewards offerings can contact benefits@marquette.edu.
