The campus community is invited to gather for Mass to remember and pray for late Marquette University President Michael R. Lovell at the St. Joan of Arc Chapel on Tuesday, June 9, at noon.

On the two-year anniversary of his death, President Lovell’s impact continues to be felt across campus and throughout the broader community. As the 24th president in Marquette’s 143-year history and the first layperson to lead the university, President Lovell brought a spirit of innovation and collaboration that reshaped Marquette’s trajectory and strengthened its connections beyond campus. His legacy endures in the partnerships he fostered, the initiatives he championed and the people he inspired.

His continued legacy is also reflected through the Michael R. Lovell Presidential Scholarship program, created in partnership with the Lovell family to support future generations of Marquette leaders. The Lovell Scholars program benefits outstanding students from around the country who are grounded in humility and committed to the same values with which President Lovell lived his life — excellence, faith, leadership and service.

All are invited to gather in prayer for President Lovell and his family and friends, and to remember a dear friend.
