Ash Wednesday, the traditional start of Lent, is Wednesday, Feb. 18. Lent is a season of reflection, repentance and renewal, marked by prayer, fasting and almsgiving.
Campus Ministry will offer multiple opportunities to receive ashes and celebrate Mass:
- 7:30 a.m. — Mass, Chapel of the Holy Family
- Noon — Mass, Weasler Auditorium
- 12:15 p.m. — Mass in Spanish, Chapel of the Holy Family
- 4 p.m. — Ecumenical Service of the Word with Distribution of Ashes, Chapel of the Holy Family
- 6 p.m. — Mass, Chapel of the Holy Family
- 10 p.m. — Mass, St. Joan of Arc Chapel
The Church of the Gesu will hold Mass at 7 a.m., 12:05 p.m., and 5:30 p.m.
All are welcome. Catholics over 14 are asked to abstain from meat, and those 18–59 are called to observe a day of fasting.
