Employees who are able to work remotely may do so with supervisor approval. If an employee’s job does not allow for remote work, they should work with their supervisor regarding options. Supervisors should communicate with their employees to set expectations.
Assignments due in undergraduate, graduate and GSM classes are delayed, and instructors are expected to communicate with students regarding their expectations for missed or delayed assignments and to clarify any changes in class schedule due to the cancelation. Instructors should see the policy for Severe Weather – Instructor Responsibilities when Classes are Canceled for further guidance.
The payroll department will provide guidance, via email, to supervisors for timesheet entry when classes are canceled and there is an operational disruption.
In general, when classes are canceled due to severe weather, most campus events and all student-organized events will be canceled. See detailed event protocol, including requesting an exception.
