Junior Matt Waters, a commercial real estate and commercial banking double major in the College of Business Administration, has been selected as an Eisenberg Real Estate Scholar. This competitive program, sponsored by the Harold E. Eisenberg Foundation, selects six students from around the country to receive mentoring, career counseling and a scholarship.
“I was smiling ear to ear when I learned that I had been selected as a scholar among candidates across 18 universities nationwide,” Waters said. “I know that this program will significantly advance my career and am very excited for big things ahead.”
“Matt is an exceptional student who sets the standard of high performance and ethical practice that our institute is known for,” said Andy Hunt, director of the Vieth Institute for Real Estate Leadership. “I am pleased to see Matt’s hard work recognized by such a prestigious organization.”
In addition to his studies, Waters is a development associate at Mandel Group, a luxury multifamily development company in Milwaukee. He is the vice president of the Commercial Real Estate Club and involved in the Knights of Columbus.
The Harold E. Eisenberg Real Estate Scholar Program was launched in 2015 to provide undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to enhance their skills and network within the commercial real estate industry. Students are nominated by their universities and chosen by a panel of judges. Scholars will attend all Eisenberg Foundation events, as well as the International Council of Shopping Centers contest in Las Vegas in May.
