To celebrate the culmination of the historic Time to Rise campaign and its campuswide impact, University Advancement honored its most generous donors from around the nation. Alumni, parents and friends reflected on campaign milestones and the $801.7 million results generated by more than 71,000 donors.
The program featured gifts elevating the university in numerous ways through a series of videos, including:
- Wellness + Helfaer Recreation — A facility that will redefine the student experience, leveraging the synergies among physical, social, mental and spiritual well-being.
- Water quality research — How Marquette’s team of world-class researchers work to solve pressing problems related to lake, river and groundwater quality.
- The O’Brien Fellowship in Public Service Journalism — A program that teams up Marquette student journalists with reporters for nine-month investigations into complex national and local issues.
- The priority to drive scholarship and the Do Great Things initiative — A transformational scholarship program for Green Bay West High School students to attend Marquette.
- Time to Rise celebration video — A video capturing the progress and momentum throughout the campaign.
Time to Rise was championed by trustee emerita Mary Ellen and Dr. Scott Stanek and trustee emeritus Chuck and Karen Swoboda, National Campaign co-chairs, who led through their own philanthropy as well as by directing a worldwide network of 180 regional and affinity-based volunteers.
Vice President for University Advancement Tim McMahon thanked the Marquette community for creating a culture of philanthropy and a campaign for everyone.
“Your generous support helps us to Be The Difference for Marquette students, delivering on our promise of a distinctive, values-based education,” McMahon said. “You also helped us deliver on the late President Lovell’s personal vision to stretch beyond our $750 million campaign goal and surpass $800 million while illuminating our path for the future.”
