The Marquette Center for Data, Ethics, and Society and the Northwestern Mutual Data Science Institute are hosting the 2024 AI Ethics Symposium on Thursday, Nov. 21, in the Alumni Memorial Union.
The event is free and open to the public; students are welcome. Register online.
Dr. Alondra Nelson, former deputy assistant to President Joe Biden and director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, and Dr. Casey Fiesler, associate professor of information science at the University of Colorado Boulder, will be the keynote speakers. Additional panels and networking lunch options will be announced.
Call for poster presenters
As a part of this year’s event, the NMDSI will host a research poster session/networking event highlighting AI ethics expertise from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Marquette students and faculty, who will create and share posters to showcase their research projects.
