The Institute for Women’s Leadership Faculty Fellows program provides a research environment that supports innovation and research in the academic community at Marquette and the Milwaukee area. This year’s fellows play critical roles in advancing gender-based research in their fields.
This year’s Faculty Fellows include:

- Dr. Alison Clark Efford, associate professor of history in the Klingler College of Arts and Sciences
- Dr. Kathryn (Katie) Malin, assistant professor in the College of Nursing
- Dr. Zori A. Paul, clinical assistant professor of counselor education and counseling psychology in the College of Education
- Spring 2025 IWL Faculty Fellows
- Dr. Terry Burant, clinical associate professor of educational policy and leadership in the College of Education
- Dr. Christine Dalessio, teaching assistant professor of theology in the Klingler College of Arts and Sciences
- Dr. Desiree Valentine, assistant professor of philosophy in the Klingler College of Arts and Sciences
The research projects of these IWL Faculty Fellows include women’s empowerment through strength sports, maternal and infant determinants of health, marginalized identities, artificial intelligence use for mental health professionals, and women’s issues in a Catholic context and within feminist philosophy.
